Adult Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the library! We value our volunteers and their contributions. According to HCPSS Board Policy, all parent volunteers must complete a Confidentiality Training Course about protecting the privacy of our students, staff, and schools and view a brief Child Abuse training presentation and print out a certificate of completion. This must be done each school year.

Fostering a close working relationship with parents and other adults provides the library media specialist time for professional duties. There will be an orientation twice a year, once in September and once in January to detail the jobs that adult volunteers are expected to perform. These may include shelving books, cutting and copying resources or assisting with inventory. In addition, a huge volunteer need comes during the Book Fair and I will send out information through the School Newsletter for this! Please email me for more info!

Student Library Media Assistants

Our library accepts 5th grade student assistants. The key to successful participation in this group is being alert, responsible, and enthusiastic. These students are usually carefully selected by the library media specialist, who accepts recommendations from classroom teachers. These students help younger grades with checkout and predominantly shelve books.
