Circulation Hours and Borrowing Procedures
Students can check out books before school (8:45-9:00 a.m.) and after school (3:15-3:30 p.m.) or during their designated Media time.
K-1st may check out 1 book at a time
2nd-5th may check out between 2-5 books at a time
Students will be able to check out books starting the first week of school. All students will begin checking out after their first media lesson with their class during the first week of school. The school library is open throughout the school year until the last week of school.
A good range of time for a checkout is two weeks and the general rule is students should return books before checking out additional ones. You may renew books as long as you like unless another student requests the book. If you misplace a book, make sure to take time and look everywhere, you'll find it! Students may check out books daily.

If the library is closed for any reason during testing or any mandatory time, each grade level will have a library cart that students can still choose books from to enhance learning.
Check out some books below I personally recommend and can help you find!

Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston
A piece of artwork on shelves, this picture book follows a little girl showing a young boy what's possible through reading with just a little imagination.

Deborah Wiles
A documentary novel surrounding the 1960s, this book is Wiles' follow up to Countdown. It follows a young girl and her experiences with the civil rights movement interspersed between illustrative photos of the time and important events.
All images above are taken from my phone of books I own and uploaded.
Ilene Cooper
This bio focuses on First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt's evolution from a lonely young lady to a fighter for civil rights and justice across the world.
